Day1 Arrive Chengdu (1hr drive)

Your guide will meet and greet you at the arrival hall. An experienced driver will transfer you directly to your hotel. After check-in at the hotel, you can have a rest.

Day2 Chengdu (B, L, D)
Chengdu Panda Base/ Bamboo Park
At 7:30 am your guide meet you at the hotel lobby and drive the Chengdu Panda Base.
Full-day explore this downtown panda base. More than 80 pandas live there including some cubs rarely seen at other panda bases. Have lunch at the Bamboo Restaurant in the park. Explore this park at your own pace in the afternoon, and we will leave at 16:00 for dinner. In the evening, stroll around the bamboo park to enjoy the night view.

•According to the regulations of the panda base, all private vehicles are not allowed to park at the entrance of the panda base. Visitors are requested to get off at the parking lot and walk about 10 minutes to the entrance gate.

Day3 Chengdu-Wolong-Chengdu 1hr40min drive for one-way (B, L, D)
Panda Volunteering
At 7:00 head to Wolong Panda Base, 1300 meters above sea level, with beautiful scenery, and snow in winter. Here in spring and summer, you can see many panda mothers with their babies.

You can studying giant panda feces or learning about enrichment for pandas
, and prepare Wowotou for them. At 15:00 drive back to Chengdu.

*Starting from April 25, 2024, panda volunteers will not be allowed to enter the panda enclosure, and the arrangement of clean the panda enclosures & collect panda poop will be canceled.

Day4 Chengdu-Tangjiehe 2hrs15mins drive (B, L, D)
Visit Qingchuan ancient town
Morning take a high-speed train from Chengdu to Qingchuan County (1.5hrs), our driver will meet you at Qingchuan railway station for pickup and drive another 2 hours to Qingxi Ancient Town.

Qingxi Ancient Town has a long history of more than 1700 years. Its history can be traced back to the Shu Han period, and it is an important pass on the ancient Yin Ping road. After dinner, we will drive 15 minutes to the Tangiiahe Nature Reserve.

Day5 Tangjiehe (B, L, D)
At 8:30 the mountain ranger will meet you at the hotel lobby and take the sightseeing bus together at the hotel gate to Kongyi Pass and hike up the mountain to Baixiong Pass to look for Civets, Muntjac, Goral, Takin Yellow-throated Marten, Golden pheasant along the trail.
Sichuan takin will descend from high altitude to the 2,000-meter forest area to look for young branches and leaves for the winter. Walking on a mountain path, you may encounter a takin at the next turn.
Groups of Sichuan golden monkeys and Tibetan macaques jump and chase through the forest, and if you're lucky, you can observe their behavior and social relationships up close.
Solitary tufted deer are particularly good at hiding themselves in the forest, and you need to be very careful to spot them among the dense trees.
At noon back to the hotel for lunch. Rest until around 1 p.m., and take the sightseeing bus to Baiguoping to look for Tawny Fish Owl, Green Shrike-Babbler, Little Bunting, etc.

Day6 Tangjiehe (B, L, D)
At 8:30 the mountain ranger will meet you at the hotel lobby and take the sightseeing bus to Motianling Mountain at the hotel gate to look for birds such as Temminck's Tragopan, Golden pheasant, and so on. Bring simple food and have a picnic lunch today. Descent from Motianling Mountain, we will go straight to the Daotizi Valley looking for Golden Monkey and Goral. In the late afternoon, return to the hotel and trek in a small loop around the hotel to look for Black Bear or Ocelot.

Day7 Tangjiehe-Xian 2hrs drive (B, L, D)
Morning explores the Tangjiahe at your own pace with the tour guide. At 10:30, we will leave and drive to the Qingchuan Railway Station and from there, take a high-speed train to Xi’an (2.5hrs).
In the afternoon, have some fun in the Muslim Quarter of Xi’an. Challenge yourself to take a food adventure, finding both traditional dishes and special snacks that have gone viral.

Terracotta Army AM/ Ancient wall
In the morning, drive about 1.5 hours from Xi'an to the dignified terracotta warriors. Discover the army's secrets with the help of your guide. 
In the afternoon, visit the ancient city wall.

Optional:
If you opt to ride a bike on the ancient city wall, go for it. From the top, you can get views of the different areas of the city.

Q: What is the local temperature like?
A: The temperature in the Guangyuan downtown area in February is 2℃~12℃ and 1℃~10℃ in Tangjiahe Reserve. Outdoor gear: commonly used clothing in winter like outdoor padded jackets, outdoor down jackets, outdoor storm jackets, hoodies, fleece jackets, storm pants, thermal pants, hiking shoes, sunhat, sunglasses, hiking poles, etc.
 
Q: How long is the drive between each destination?
A: It takes 2 hours to drive from Qingchuan Railway Station to Qingxi Ancient Town, and another 15 minutes to Tangjiahe Nature Reserve. The sightseeing bus of the Tangjiahe Nature Reserve takes no more than 30 minutes. Please prepare some medicine in advance if you suffer from motion sickness.

A: The hiking is 7-10 kilometers for each day, ascending 100 - 200 meters, suitable for most of the travelers. Just be careful not to slip.

A: You are recommended to bring telescopes (bird watching), flashlights (night viewing), and camera equipment (nature recording).

Q: Can I see wild animals in Tangjiahe?
A: Yes, the encounter rate of animals and birds in Tangjiahe is very high. Follow the tour guide and the reserve ranger to watch wild animals and birds in their natural state. You need to get up early, follow the instructions, and keep a safe distance from wild animals. Feeding wild animals and going out alone at night is not allowed.

A: An 8% chance of spotting them in the wild. It is very rare.
