Itinerary

Day 1 Hailar Arrival
We will greet you at Hailar Airport upon your arrival in the evening. A private vehicle will transfer you to the hotel for a hassle free check in. Welcome to the land of blue skies and green pastures! No activities are planned for today if the flight arrives late. Get a good night's sleep to recharge for the exciting grassland adventures ahead.

Day 2 Nomadic Culture Camp & Morogele River
We are going to immerse ourselves in authentic Mongolian nomadic life at a camp beside the Morogele River. You will learn about traditional yurt construction, dairy processing, and herding techniques from local families. The peaceful riverside setting offers breathtaking views of the rolling grasslands. In the evening, we will stay overnight in a traditional felt yurt, listening to the gentle murmur of the river and gazing at the starry sky.

Day 3 Russian Home Visit, Wetland & Genhe
We will visit a local Russian family in their home, where you will learn about their unique heritage and enjoy homemade pastries and tea. Afterwards, we are going to explore Erguna National Wetland Park, one of Asia's largest wetland ecosystems. From the observation deck, you will see winding rivers and lush vegetation stretching to the horizon. Then we will drive to Genhe, famously known as "China's Cold Pole," and check into our hotel.

Day 4 Reindeer Tribe, Forest Train & Moerdaoga
Today we will visit Aoluguya, home to the Ewenki reindeer herders, one of China's smallest ethnic minorities. You will have the opportunity to feed reindeer and learn about their ancient hunting and migration traditions. Afterwards, we are going to board a scenic forest train that winds through dense taiga forests, offering a delightful ride. We will then proceed to Moerdaoga, deep in the Greater Khingan Range, for a quiet evening surrounded by pristine nature.

Day 5 Eagle's Beak, Border Cruise & Shiwei
We will start with a visit to Eagle's Beak, striking rock formations that resemble an eagle's bill, overlooking the Argun River. Then we are going to enjoy a relaxing cruise along the border river, with Russian shores visible just across the water. We will also stop at Oloochi Manor to appreciate local history and architecture. The day concludes in Shiwei, a charming Russian style town filled with colourful wooden houses and a peaceful riverside atmosphere.

Day 6 Border Road, Herder Family & Sunset Horse Riding
We will drive along the scenic border road, where vast grasslands meet the winding river. We are going to visit a local herder's family to experience their daily routines and taste freshly made dairy products. As the sun begins to set, we will go horseback riding across the rolling hills, a truly magical moment with golden light painting the landscape. Tonight we will stay in a traditional yurt at Heishantou, with the sounds of nature all around.

Day 7 Border Gate, Matryoshka Square & Manzhouli
In the morning, we will view the China Russia border gate from the outside, a significant landmark of international trade. Then we are going to stroll through Matryoshka Square, adorned with colourful giant nesting dolls that represent Russian folk art. The city of Manzhouli itself is a vibrant blend of Chinese, Russian, and Mongolian cultures, we will leave you to explore its unique streets, shops, and dining options.

Day 8 Horse Dance, Camel Riding & Hoh Nur Lake
Today we will watch a thrilling Barhu Mongol horse dance performance, showcasing the incredible skill and bravery of local horsemen. After that, you may ride a camel across the sandy terrain for a different perspective of the grassland landscape. We are going to enjoy a relaxing afternoon tea by the serene Hoh Nur Lake, taking in the tranquil scenery before transferring to Hailar Airport for the late night departure. We will bid you farewell and wish you a pleasant journey to the next destination or back home.
