Itinerary

Day1 Chengdu Arrival
Airport transfer to the hotel.
Your guide will meet and greet you at the arrival hall. An experienced driver will transfer you directly to your hotel. After check-in at the hotel, you can have a rest. Welcome dinner starts at 6 pm

Day2 Chengdu
Chengdu Panda Base AM/City tour PM/Sichuan opera at night
At 7:30 am your guide meet you at the hotel lobby and drive the Chengdu Panda Base.
Full-day explore this downtown panda base. More than 80 pandas live there including some cubs rarely seen at other panda bases. Have lunch at the Bamboo Restaurant in the park. Explore the city in the afternoon. In the evening, we will enjoy the face-changing show.

*According to the regulations of the panda base, all private vehicles are not allowed to park at the entrance of the panda base. Visitors are requested to get off at the parking lot and walk about 10 minutes to the entrance gate.

Day3 Chengdu-Dujiangyan (1.5 hours drive)
Dujiangyan Panda Base/Dujiangyan Panda Valley
Accompanied by a professional panda expert who will introduce you to the topics of panda discovery, the history of panda in China, the classification, and panda conservation. In the afternoon, you will observe the red pandas in Panda Valley.

Panda Volunteering in New Shenshuping Wolong Panda Base
06:30 am Hotel pick up to Wolong Panda Base. The full-day program includes panda food making, and panda enrichment, and features of documentary video of releasing panda into the wildness.

Day5 Wolong-Yaan (2.5 hours drive)
Red Panda Volunteering in Hetaoping Wolong Panda Base
Put on the suit, the volunteers will prepare the food for the red pandas. Red pandas eat mostly bamboo, apples, and panda cakes.

Day6 Yaan-Leshan (2.5 hours drive)
Visit Yaan Panda Base
Bifengxia Panda Base was built in 2003 and opened in 2004, which makes the best vegetation with clean air and water. There is a panda kindergarten in the base, where you can see the baby pandas playing around. Bei Bei, who was born in Washington DC lives here.

Day7 Lehan-Chengdu (1.5 hours drive)
Visit Leshan Giant Buddha
Embark on an early morning adventure to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Leshan Giant Buddha.

Day8 Chengdu-Tangjiahe (2 hours drive)
Visit Qingxi Ancient Town
Morning take a high-speed train from Chengdu to Qingchuan County (1.5hrs), our driver will meet you at Qingchuan railway station for pickup and drive another 2 hours to Qingxi Ancient Town.

Qingxi Ancient Town has a long history of more than 1700 years. Its history can be traced back to the Shu Han period, and it is an important pass on the ancient Yin Ping road. After dinner, we will drive 15 minutes to the Tangiiahe Nature Reserve.

Day9 Tangiiahe Nature Reserve
Tangjianhe Nature Reserve and explore the wildlife
At 8:30 the mountain ranger will meet you at the hotel lobby and take the sightseeing bus together at the hotel gate to Kongyi Pass and hike up the mountain to Baixiong Pass to look for Civets, Muntjac, Goral, Takin Yellow-throated Marten, Golden pheasant along the trail. At noon back to the hotel for lunch. Rest until around 2 p.m., and take the sightseeing bus to Baiguoping to look for Tawny Fish Owl, Green Shrike-Babbler, Little Bunting, etc.

Day10 Tangjiahe -Xian (3 hours drive)
Train to Xian and visit the Muslim Quarter
Morning explores the Tangjiahe at your own pace with the tour guide. At 10:30, we will leave and drive to the Qingchuan Railway Station and from there, take a high-speed train to Xi’an (2.5hrs).
In the afternoon, have some fun in the Muslim Quarter of Xi’an. Challenge yourself to take a food adventure, finding both traditional dishes and special snacks that have gone viral.

Day11 Xian
Terracotta Warriors and Ancient Wall
In the morning, drive about 1.5 hours from Xi'an to the dignified terracotta warriors. Discover the army's secrets with the help of your guide. 
In the afternoon, visit the ancient city wall.
Optional:
If you opt to ride a bike on the ancient city wall, go for it. From the top, you can get views of the different areas of the city.

Day12 Xian-Chengdu
Train to Chengdu and Jinli Street
You will take the train back to Chengdu in the morning and stroll through Jinli.

Your guide will send you off to the airport and say goodbye.

Q: How high are the approximate chances of spotting wild giant panda?
A: An 8% chance of spotting them in the wild. It is very rare.

Q: How many kilometers is the hiking for each day in Tangjiahe? Will it be difficult?
A: The hiking is 7-10 kilometers on each day, ascending 100 - 200 meters, suitable for most travelers. Just be careful not to slip.
 
Q: What items are needed for wildlife observation and any recommendations?
A: You are recommended to bring telescopes (bird watching), flashlights (night viewing), and camera equipment (nature recording).

Q: Can I see wild animals in Tangjiahe?
A: Yes, the encounter rate of animals and birds in Tangjiahe is very high. Follow the tour guide and the reserve ranger to watch wild animals and birds in their natural state. You need to get up early, follow the instructions, and keep a safe distance from wild animals. Feeding wild animals and going out alone at night is not allowed.
